Grandparent Schmooze

"Watching your kids have kids, is just incredible."

More so than ever, grandparents are a major part of their grandchildren's lives. They stay connected through frequent playdates, holiday get-togethers, and FaceTime. They are often involved in their day-to-day, their faith identity, and their life experiences. Enjoy this video all about the joys and challenges of grandparenthood.

Meet Amy

Amy Kirsch
PJ Library Outreach Specialist

I live in Belmont with my husband and 2 kids, 8 year old Zoey and my 13 year old son Calvin. We enjoy many activities together, skiing in the winter and traveling to Maine in the summer. The JCC had been a part of my life growing up in Connecticut where I learned to play tennis, and when I heard about the JCC's work in Arlington, I was thrilled to become a Family Connector there leading playgroups and events. My work has now led me to connect families through PJ Library sharing the love of books and JCC events, and also as a Welcome Baby visitor. I enjoy meeting so many new families and connecting them to our huge variety of offerings. I look forward to connecting with your family soon. Contact Amy

Meet Stephanie

Stephanie Marlin-Curiel
Stephanie Marlin Curiel
Family Engagement Coordinator, Boston Metro North Area

I have been growing Metro North's family engagement opportunities since 2010.  Beginning with a few Holiday programs per year, I have worked to expand programming to include classes, meet ups, outdoor adventures, and social action programs. I live in Arlington with my husband and our two teenage children. As a family, we love traveling, hiking, cooking, eating, going to world music concerts, jumping into lakes, escape rooms, and being with friends and family.

I love creating experiential programs to engage families in ways that feel important to them. Families I have known over the years often bring up past programs they attended. Whether it's making a friend, experiencing Shabbat at our weekly drop-in, discovering a treasure box behind a rock, dancing with fire ribbon rings on the beach, or decorating and packing toiletry kits for children experiencing homelessness, these memories still resonate years later. Making memories with families, breaking new ground, and working with all my wonderful colleagues at the JCC are the great joys of my job.
