JCC Impact Stories
JCC@333 2023 focuses on the programs that engage our youngest learners and their families as they embark on their Jewish journey.
At every age and stage in life, we can all wonder, explore, and discover ways that being Jewish and being part of a Jewish community are meaningful and important. This year’s gala highlights the impact of our various youth programs, including Welcome Baby, PJ Library®, Discovery Club, and our JCC Early Learning Centers.
What a Long, Strange Trip It’s Been
JCC@333 2022 celebrated the career of JCC Greater Boston’s former President/CEO Mark Sokoll.
As he marks the end of 33 years of leadership and dedication to the Greater Boston Jewish Community, we are grateful to and humbled by all who have joined us to celebrate Mark and donated in his honor to JCC Greater Boston’s Fund for the Future.
Growing Community, Together
JCC@333 2021 celebrated meaningful connections and welcomed others to join this joyful community.
In 2021, we gathered both in-person and virtually to share stories, connect with friends, and honor our continued ability to create community, wherever we are.
New and innovative virtual and in-person programs, more connected families, more PJ stories, more campers, more healthy living, more relationships, and more holiday celebrations. All of these programs provide the roots for families to make their own Jewish choices, growing a vibrant Jewish future for generations to come.
“This cherished community has shown resilience through unprecedented times and embraced new ways to build activity, routine and connection while keeping yourself and loved ones safe.”
Planting Seeds For The Future
Engaged families, PJ stories, campers, healthy living, relationships, and holiday celebrations at JCC Greater Boston are scaffolding for families to make their own Jewish choices, growing the roots for a vibrant Jewish future.
“It’s not a given to have a place to go to feel safe, grow families and nurture connections.”
See how JCC Greater Boston helps people imagine more for their communities, for their families, and for themselves.
By creating connections through community programming, strengthening values at Discovery Club, and solidifying Jewish identities at Camp, JCC Greater Boston gives thousands of individuals and families the tools to enrich their lives with meaning, joy, purpose, and imagination.
“Most of all, I imagine a vibrant community.”
Building Shared Experiences
Meet several community members who have seen their lives positively impacted by JCC Greater Boston.
Whether it’s through PJ Library, camps, or Parkinson’s Wellness, JCC Greater Boston gives thousands of individuals and families the tools to create lives of meaning, joy, and purpose, and to build their own Jewish story.
“They are both just campers, and even though one has special needs and one does not, it doesn’t matter.”
Camp Grossman: A Family Tradition
“We came for Jewish day camp, and we got much more. We saw our traditions and values come to life in a happy environment.”
JCC Greater Boston serves more children at Jewish day camps than anywhere else in New England, playing a powerful role in transmitting values and meaning to the next generation. We are particularly proud when multiple generations choose to send their children to our camps, as does the Siegel family. Watch their story.
Diller: Sharing Jewish Journeys
The JCC Diller Teen Fellowship develops future generations of leaders with a strong Jewish identity.
Diller inspires teens to repair the world in ways that are most meaningful for them. In this case, Diller also connected generations, as parent Scott Snapper visited Israel with his Diller Teen Fellow daughter Tara. Learn more about their shared Jewish journey.
“Diller has really made me deepen my knowledge about everything— about Judaism, about politics, about academics, about myself—and I can’t find that anywhere else.”
Inclusion at the JCC
“People feel cherished, and part of the larger, inclusive Jewish community.”
At our camps and in our early learning centers, through swimming and other fitness programs, and thanks to a range of social programs, JCC Greater Boston touches hundreds of families and individuals who might not otherwise be able to connect to the Jewish community. For over 25 years, Jim has made friends, celebrated Jewish traditions, and found support when he needed it. Learn what JCC Greater Boston means to him.
“People feel cherished, and part of the larger, inclusive, Jewish community.”
