From beloved classics to unexpected TV moments, Gail uses film to open the door to conversations about aging, caregiving, grief, funerals, medical decision-making, and living fully while we can.
This interview-style Wellness Wednesday will explore how movies can make difficult conversations feel more human, approachable, and even meaningful. Gail will share a few memorable film clips along the way, as well as practical insights about advance planning and why avoiding these conversations often creates more stress for the people we love. As Gail likes to say, “Talking about sex won’t make you pregnant, and talking about funerals won’t make you dead.”

Moishe, a disgraced Hasidic wedding-comedian, must secure one last gig to raise the $20,000 required to marry off his daughter and reclaim his former glory. When his childhood best friend, Yisroel Bomchik, returns home for his son’s wedding, Moishe convinces Yisroel to let him co-host the ceremony alongside a younger and flashier entertainer. The proceedings quickly spiral out of control when the seasoned performers clash.
