Falls are a common cause of injury among older adults, but many falls can be prevented. Join us to learn about common fall risks and simple steps you can take to stay safe, active, and independent. This program will cover:

  • Common causes and risk factors for falls
  • How medications, vision changes, weakness, and balance problems can affect fall risk
  • Simple ways to make your home safer
  • The importance of proper footwear and assistive devices
  • Exercises and activities that support strength, balance, and mobility
  • Tips for moving safely, including at night
  • When to talk with a healthcare provider about fall risk
  • Techniques for reducing the risk of injury if a fall occurs
  • What to do after a fall and when to seek medical attention

Leave with practical strategies to reduce preventable injuries and feel more confident in your everyday movement.

This IN-PERSON event is FREE offered in collaboration with UMASS Boston College of Nursing & Health Science.
