Maia Sharuk is a Massachusetts native who did her undergraduate work at Wellesley College and medical degree at the University of Massachusetts. She completed her residency in OB/GYN at Bridgeport Hospital/Yale New Haven Health and then returned to Boston where she worked at Atrius/Harvard Vanguard as a general OB/GYN from 2015 to 2022. She joined the ASCOG Division at BIDMC in 2022 and credits her mentor Dr. Martha Richardson for sparking her interest in Menopause and Women's Midlife health. Her goals including both providing care to patients during the Menopausal transition as well as improving education for healthcare providers in Women's Midlife Health.

In an ultra-Orthodox Jewish community in Jerusalem, Bati has a seemingly perfect life. She is happily married to Lazer and the young couple have three children.
