Lev shalem, “a whole heart,” is a Jewish phrase that points toward meeting life fully, even when loss has broken us open. This five-week, in-person bereavement group is for adults grieving the death of someone important to them.

Together we will create a safe space to share and to listen, to learn alongside others, and to reflect on grief through conversation, guided learning, and Jewish tradition. The group, co-facilitated by Rabbi Allison Berry and social worker Talia Kesselman from Jewish Family & Children’s Service, brings together pastoral presence and clinical insight.

This group is free of charge and enrollment is limited to 14. Those interested are invited to complete a brief interest form. From there, we’ll connect with you to learn more and ensure this group feels like the right fit for your needs. Please note: While these gatherings can be healing, they are not therapy. Instead, they are peer-based circles centered on presence, understanding, learning, and respect. If you are in acute crisis, coping with complex trauma, or looking for individual mental health care, we invite you to reach out to Mental Health Connect, the free, confidential information and referral service at Jewish Family & Children’s Service, by calling 781-693-5562.
