    Here are a few things to keep in mind when booking a Pilates session with us:

    • Payment must be made in full prior to session.

    • If you need to cancel a session, please give us 24 hours' notice and contact your instructor directly. Any late cancellations or no-show appointments will be charged the full session cost — be mindful of your instructor's time!

    • All private Pilates sales are non-transferable and non-refundable.

    • Sessions expire one year from the date of purchase, so be sure to use them up within that time frame.

    Meet the Team

    Fitness Engagement/Pilates Manager

    Debra is a life-long holistic health enthusiast, runner, NASM certified personal trainer and Pilates advocate who encourages clients to identify real-life fitness goals and incorporate a functional approach to exercise and healthy living that fits their lifestyle. Currently serving as the Fitness Engagement/Pilates Manager she also holds certifications in TRX training and CPR/AED. Debra is passionate about helping individuals in every stage of life to get stronger and improve their sense of well-being and quality of life.


    Yael is a STOTT Pilates certified trainer, Zumba instructor and belly dancer. She holds a Master’s Degree in Dance Anthropology from Tel Aviv University. As a Pilates trainer, she specializes in working with clients with spinal injuries as well as with prenatal and postpartum women. Yael’s teaches in a noncompetitive environment, and encourages a safe, gentle workout to help achieve tone, balance, posture awareness, and strength. Yael enjoys cooking, knitting, reading and theater. She is originally from Israel and currently resides in Newton

    Denise Ackerman

    Denise works with clients to transform their bodies by building strength, gaining mobility and improving stability. Denise is certified in both Mat and Reformer and is trained in Tower/Cadillac, Chair and Barrel from Balanced Body. An avid skier, golfer and paddler, she discovered Pilates twelve years ago while reclaiming her body after having twins. By connecting and developing the mind, body and spirit, Denise takes her clients through an individualized experience — whether in private or group session. When out of the Pilates studio, Denise is a Certified Holistic Health Coach, creating customized roadmaps for a lifetime of healthy food preparation and eating.


    Melanie is a life-long dancer and long-time student of Stott Pilates. She became Stott Pilates certified in the Fall of 2020, and is continuing her education with the ISP program at Northeast Pilates. Melanie believes that the mind/movement connection is the basis for all physical and mental health and looks forward to helping her clients find this equilibrium through Pilates! 


    Nia has been teaching mindful movement since 2001. Trained in hatha yoga, STOTT Pilates, Gyrotonic® and somatics, as well as prenatal and postnatal yoga, Nia finds that these disciplines fulfill her love of movement once satisfied through dance and is grateful for the opportunity to share the healing power of methodical movement and body awareness with others. Nia has an interdisciplinary, intuitive, and compassionate approach to Pilates, with extensive experience working with a wide spectrum of injuries and ages. Her style is thoughtful and unrushed, underscoring the healing benefits of mindful movement – allowing space for attuning, listening, and responding to the sensations and wisdom of our bodies, as well as recognizing the delight that can accompany being present with deliberate movement. Her previous studies include dance, social work, theology, and Eastern philosophies. In her free time, she spends time outside with her two amazing boys.  


    Maria has been a nurse practitioner for 15 years specializing in the management of Diabetes and is a STOTT certified Pilates instructor who has a deep appreciation for the importance of physical activity to achieve and maintain optimal health. Maria believes that core strengthening and improvement of body alignment are two unique benefits that Pilates can provide and has completed specialized training focusing on injuries and special populations. She is eager to share her unique understanding of health & wellness and passion for Pilates with her clients. Apart from Pilates she enjoys riding her Peloton at home and taking long beach walks.
