Through its thoughtful programming, Boston Jewish Film expands cultural understanding and builds bridges across diverse perspectives, aligning with JCC Greater Boston’s mission to nurture connection, enrich lives, and strengthen community bonds.

Over the course of the year, BJF engages and inspires audiences to explore the full spectrum of Jewish life, values, history, and culture through the powerful medium of cinema. With a signature festival every March and other special programs, BJF invites audiences to explore universal themes alongside Jewish perspectives, deepening understanding of both Jewish experience and our shared humanity.

Boston Jewish Film Festival

Each November, BJF presents its flagship Boston Jewish Film Festival — a 10+-day celebration of international cinema that explores Jewish themes, history, and culture. Screenings take place at venues across Greater Boston and often include visits, Q&A’s, panel discussions, and special guest appearances.

Year-Round Screenings & Programs

BJF’s programming extends far beyond November, featuring several opportunities to engage with film and culture throughout the year:

  • Boston Jewish Film 360 – curated film screenings and sneak previews year-round.
  • Youth & Education Programs (BJF Studio) – bringing films, discussions, and filmmaking workshops to schools and community spaces.
  • Special Events & Galas – community gatherings, film celebrations, and fundraisers.
  • Film Clubs and Discussions – opportunities to watch and talk about films with fellow cinephiles.
