Become a certified lifeguard with this Blended Learning course.
This course will include first aid and CPR/AED training, patron surveillance, water rescue, teamwork, and communication skills. Throughout the course, you will learn the knowledge and skills required to become a professional lifeguard. Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED valid for 2 years.
The course meets on the following dates and times:
Prerequisite 1: Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest:
Prerequisite 2: Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds:
Prerequisite 3: Complete all online course work before the first day of class
Participants must be 15 years old by the last day of the course.

Refund policy: If participants do not complete the online portion before the in-person sessions, no refunds will be given. If participants fail the pre-course session, there is an option to reschedule for another Lifeguard offering through the JCC with credit. If participants fail any other part of the certification class (final assessments, final exam, skill proficiency), no refund or credit will be given. If participants cancel within 7 days of the class start, no refund will be given.
