About the Lobby Project

We are excited to start construction in January 2024 for the lobby renovation project which will transform the first floor of the Leventhal-Sidman JCC from the main entrance through the J Cafe! These upgrades will soon transform the Leventhal-Sidman JCC, enhancing your experience from the moment you step through our doors.

See below for more specific instructions, including a map, to guide you to your program or activity location when coming to the Leventhal-Sidman JCC during construction.  We expect this project will last through late spring 2024 and anticipate that the following entrance and exit routes will be in place throughout the duration of the project.

The planned renovations aim to foster community by designing spaces that encourage interaction and connection. Through communal areas, inclusive design, and shared amenities, these renovations will enhance the sense of belonging among our members. These upgrades include:

Information About Entering & Exiting the Building During Construction

Entering the JCC

Based on the current work needs, the route you will take to get from Entrance A – Theater to the following spaces will change starting on February 14:

We expect this new pathway will remain in place for the remainder of the project.  There is no change to Entrance B –Tower.

Entering the JCC: Entrance A – Theater

If you are heading to the spaces named above, you will still enter through Entrance A – Theater.

Once in the Theater, after you have passed the desk, you will be directed straight ahead. You will enter the doorway indicated by signage. You will walk through the hallway and turn right when indicated by signage. You will arrive in the Family Wing. Once in the Family Wing, you may go to your desired destination. Please see the map below for a visual.

Exiting the JCC: Exit A

If you came into the building via Entrance A, then you will exit out of Exit A which is at Door 6. This is the Eexit door found at the end of the hallway near the basketball and pickleball courts, facing the Outdoor Pool. There will be signage to help you find your way!

Please note: Exit A at Door 6 is an exit only option and cannot be used as an entrance. If you need an accessible exit, you may head back to the Auditorium and leave through Entrance A.

There will be signs throughout the building directing users, and, as always, staff are available to help navigate you. Thank you for your patience and support during this very exciting project!

Entering the JCC: Entrance B – Enter via the push-button, accessible doors located to the right of the original JCC entrance, near the children’s train play area.

Use Entrance B if you are going to:

In via Entrance B, out via Entrance B

Those who entered through Entrance B will be able to leave through Entrance B.

If you need to go to a program or space that is accessed through a different entrance, such as going from the Fitness Center to JWork, please exit through the corresponding exit and re-enter the building through the assigned entrance. You will need to swipe your badge or show ID again before entering.

There will be signs throughout the building directing users, and of course staff available to help support you. Thank you for your patience and support during this very exciting project!
