Swim
Adaptive Aquatics Administrator / Part Time
JCC Greater Boston is seeking a part-time Adaptive Aquatics Administrator to oversee all administrative aspects of our dynamic, well-respected Adaptive Aquatics Program. This individual will deliver excellent customer service and timely communication with members, swim lesson participants, and team members. He/she/they will implement and maintain systems and tracking support for the program infrastructure.

Responsibilities of Aquatics Administrator
- Oversee phone calls and emails pertaining to the adaptive swim program
- Support Instructors and families during swim lessons

JCC Greater Boston is a nonprofit organization with roots in earlier Settlement Houses and Young Men’s Hebrew Associations; JCC Greater Boston today offers a wide range of services and program activities throughout the Greater Boston region (~50,000 individuals annually in 98 communities). Adaptive Aquatics Instructor / Part Time
NEWTON, MA
Are you someone who thrives on making a difference, and has experience teaching skills to enrich the lives of children and adults with special needs? The JCC Greater Boston Adaptive Special Needs Swim Program is an opportunity for you to transform the lives of people you work with while developing lifelong skills. At JCC Greater Boston, our adaptive swim instructors use previous experience coupled with the Swim Angelfish methodology, while receiving lots of team support. The Aquatics team is a lively and fun group to work with. We are seeking new team members who possess high standards, have a strong customer service orientation, and are team players.
This is a part-time role and will be approximately 3-10 hours per week in Newton.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creates a safe, supportive environment which fosters confidence and skill development.
- Ensures safety of all swimmers by preventative measures and minimizing hazardous situations.
- Teaches swimming techniques and water safety skills to students with special needs of all ages, using prior experience and the Swim Angelfish curriculum.
- Establishes individual swim goals, identifies roadblocks, addresses challenges, and helps swimmers meet swim skill benchmarks to assist in water safety, increase leisure skills, and overall swim skills in children. Classes may be individual or group sessions.
- Maintains discretion, builds trust, and fosters self-confidence; adapts approach as needed to meet unique needs of each swimmer.
- Provides ongoing, effective communication with supervisor regarding all classes and programs.

Swim Team Coach / Part Time to Near Full Time
NEWTON, MA
Are you an experienced swim coach seeking a new opportunity for your talents?
Karishim Swim Club (KASC) is looking for coaches who are dynamic team players, and who are excited to contribute to their athletes’ growth, both in and out of the pool. Our coaches are essential in helping KASC continue its growth in both size and achievement.
Part-time and near full-time hours are available (22 hours per week plus weekend meets, to start). Competitive compensation based on experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares practices on a weekly basis based on phase of training and swimmer’s needs/ability.
- Maintains a focus on technique, skill development, and athlete development.
- Submits all written practices to head coach at the beginning of each week during training phase of employment.
- Works closely with the aquatics staff and other coaches to promote the club as a whole.
- Participates in weekend swim meets as required (2 weekends a month).
- Attends all coach meetings (approximately 4-5 per year).
- Helps determine swimmers’ events for meet entries.

Aqua Zumba Instructor / Part Time
JCC Greater Boston is searching for someone that is dynamic, personable, and fun to teach Aqua Zumba lessons. This person will have a passion for exercising and will want to help people reach their in-water goals. The ideal candidate will be a creative teacher who makes the class time a highlight of the participants’ weeks. Instructors will be in charge of class preparation, including music and day-to-day preparations. This position is for two hours per week in Newton.

JCC Greater Boston is seeking a full-time Head Lifeguard and Swim Instructor. As part of this dynamic team, the successful candidate will lifeguard and provide swim classes. This person will also assist with customer communications and administrative tasks. Senior Lifeguard and Swim Instructor

Are you looking for an opportunity to use your aquatics skills as part of an outstanding team? In this newly created position, the full time senior lifeguard and swim instructor’s primary responsibility will be to lifeguard and teach swim lessons as needed. This individual will also assist in customer communications and overflow of administrative duties. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach swim lessons and lifeguard as needed.
- Deliver excellent customer service to all members and all program participants.
- Assist in supervising and mentoring less experienced lifeguards and instructors.

- Maintain the facility according to scheduled duties, which may include chemical maintenance, cleaning, and storing of equipment and repair.

Indoor and Outdoor Pool Lifeguard / Part Time
NEWTON, MA
Are you looking for a job where you can use your lifesaving skills while working as part of a dynamic team? Through their skills and actions, JCC Greater Boston lifeguards create a safe and welcoming place for community members. We are seeking new team members who possess high standards, a strong customer service orientation, and great teamwork skills. The aquatics team is a lively and fun group to work with. This is a part-time, on-site role in Newton. There are several openings, and candidates can opt for either an ongoing, year round position, or for a seasonal (through Labor Day) position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures the safety of every pool patron through education, vigilant preventative guarding, first aid, emergency medical services, and rescue services. Enforces the rules and regulations of the pools consistently. Maintains a safe and neat pool area; assist in pool maintenance by performing scheduled checks.
- Maintains good working relationships with staff members, maintenance personnel, administrative personnel, and pool patrons. Develops professional relationships with members and resolves member concerns professionally, or escalates them, as appropriate.
- Creates pool related documentation (e.g. opening/closing checklists, bather tracking and incident reports). Performs area cleaning and maintenance, as required.
- Conducts swim tests. Participate in weekly skill checks.
- Adjusts to organization’s needs, working both indoor and outdoor shifts, as required.
- Learn all aspects of the pool facilities and its daily operations. For example, swim lessons, camp swim, etc. Be familiar with, and follow, the pool schedule — including correctly configuring lane lines according to the schedule. Be familiar with ‘traffic flow’ in pool area and support social distancing procedures in the building.
- Support JCC goals and objectives. Serve as a member of the fitness staff with responsibilities, which, at times, extend beyond the limits of specialized functions. Attend all mandatory trainings and in-services.
- Other activities as required by the organization.

Swim Instructors / Part Time

Swim instructors do not need to be strong swimmers or experienced trainers! - Develop safe and effective exercise programs utilizing progression; programs are consistent with member’s goals/needs and within the scope of your education and knowledge you currently possess.
- Represent the Fitness Center in a positive & professional manner at all times. Provide excellent customer service both to your clients and to others using the facilities.
- Share responsibility for floor shifts with other trainers and Health & Wellness staff members. Circulate fitness floor and assist members in safe and effective exercise form.
- Promote the JCC personal training program. This includes encouraging maintaining a client base and existing clients to continue as well as encouraging new sign ups (e.g. during fitness center orientations, fitness floor shifts and contacting interested members within 24 hours of receiving a lead).
- Assist in development and implementation of new programs and classes.
- Attend all mandatory Personal Trainer meetings, training and development.
- While on shift, trainers will follow the Daily Action Plan and complete all items on the checklist
Fitness Floor
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized fitness floor. Report equipment issues to the Fitness Director.
- Enforce all Fitness Center, Cardio Deck & Indoor Track policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Nationally accredited training certification (ACSM, NASM, NSCA, ACE)
- CPR/AED Certified
- 5 years experience in the health and fitness industry
- Computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Excel and Fitness related software

Member Service Representative / Part Time

In an exciting, supportive, fast-paced environment, the Member Relations Specialist provides day-to-day support to the Membership Department and serves as the key point person at our Member Relations desk. The individual in this position will be responsible for delivering the highest quality customer service to all members and guests through professional greetings, account maintenance, and extensive knowledge of programs and services. This role will also manage the training, orientation and scheduling for the MRC part-time staff and will have a key role in collaborating with the Marketing and Membership teams on member feedback, questions, and needs. - Providing information to prospective members and representing the JCC while maintaining the JCC’s highest standards of customer service and experience

QUALIFICATIONS

- Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to learn the JCC’s CRM membership software. Knowledge of Salesforce and Slack are a plus.

Camp Director, Camp Kaleidoscope
JCC Greater Boston is seeking an innovative, experienced leader as Camp Director to take Camp Kaleidoscope to new heights. Camp Kaleidoscope is a pluralistic Jewish day camp, open to all, where campers and staff practice kindness and forge lifelong friendships within an arts and science immersive program grounded in Jewish values and culture. Camp serves 250 creative youth (grades K-8 and CITs entering grades 9-11) interested in the performing arts, visual arts, music, science, sports and other summer fun. The Kaleidoscope Director coordinates and oversees all day-to-day operations, processes, and procedures to ensure a safe, positive experience for Kaleidoscope campers and staff. The Director is responsible for program vision and innovation, ensuring the excellence of both the arts and science curriculum and overall camper experience. The position is fully on-site in Newton during the summer and hybrid off-season. Targeted start date is June 1 to enable mentoring by the departing Director who will be leading camp for the 2023 summer.

He/she/they are responsible for the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance, and improvement of JCC Greater Boston’s CRM. Collaborating closely with various departments, the Salesforce Administrator will identify, develop, and deploy new business processes. He/she/they will also refine processes over time.

Responsibilities
- Leads, supports, maintains, and implements technical solutions, designing solutions with user satisfaction as a priority

Skilled at assessing the impact of new requirements on Salesforce and other integrated systems.
- Have nonprofit cloud consultant certification preferred or intention to complete
