MGB Newton Wellesley Hospital, in collaboration with JCC Greater Boston, is proud to present Jumpstart Your Healthy Lifestyle with Proven Strategies for Wellness. This three-part series will meet for 3 one-hour sessions over three months. Attending all three modules is highly recommended but not mandatory for participation:
Nutrition I Jane Barr, MPH, LDN I October 15
In this interactive session, receive guidelines for a heart healthy diet, including strategies for smart snacking and making heart smart swaps.
Relaxation I Beth Keane, Reiki Master I November 19
Beth will lead a conversation about stress and the impact it has on your health (some stress is good). You will also receive tools and simple techniques to help mitigate stress for a healthier mind and body.
Stretch and Strength I John Scherry, PT, CSCS and Daniel Destin, Exercise Physiologist I December 10
Understand the importance of strength training, the benefits of stretching, and how resistance training relates to your heart heath. John and Daniel will lead demonstrations to help you safely implement strength training and stretching into your routine. Learn how these activities can reduce body aches and tightness that you feel at the start of your exercise session. This is part of Newton Wellesley Hospital’s Community Collaborative Heart Health and Wellness Council. Learn more about the council.
