What are the requirements for an athlete to qualify?

Each athlete must be Jewish and have at least one Jewish parent to be eligible to try out for the Games. Also, athletes must be between the ages of 13 and 16 as of July 31 of the year of the Games for which the athlete is registering.

Are tryouts required for every sport?

Tryouts for boys’ and girls’ basketball and soccer will be held at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC, 333 Nahanton Street, Newton. All other sports will be sign-ups.
The 2020 tryout dates are Wednesday, February 12 and Wednesday, March 11 from 6:30-7:30pm in the Community Room at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC.
A $150 deposit is due at tryouts and is 100% refundable until March 15, 2020.

What else is required?

Maccabi athletes meet throughout the months leading up to the Games at team practices, days of community service, Jewish learning opportunities, and other social and sports activities. It’s a fun and fulfilling experience for all!

Who oversees the athletes?

Our delegation is chaperoned by mature adults, some of whom are also Maccabi coaches. JCC Maccabi staff onsite at the Games also supervise teens.

How does an athlete register for the JCC Maccabi Campus Games?

Once an athlete has a confirmed spot on the JCC Greater Boston delegation, they must also register online at the JCC Maccabi registration site.

How will my child get to the Games?

JCC Greater Boston will arrange transportation. Transportation is included in the cost to participate.

Can parents accompany athletes?

Parents are welcome to attend the Games and need to apply for credentials.
