A Personal Announcement to my JCC Community
Tonight at our annual gala, I shared with over 350 friends and family of JCC Greater Boston that in July 2021, I will conclude the privilege of leading this sacred and special organization for 21 years as your CEO/President. Your friendship, partnership and mentorship continue to be immeasurable gifts to our JCC, our community, and to me.
Thursday March 4th, 2021 will be our next JCC@333 annual benefit and will honor my retirement. Please plan to come celebrate with me all that we have accomplished over the last 21 years together. I am officially starting a rumor that Jerry Garcia himself will actually be there to play Sugar Magnolia so I can sing all the lyrics!
Until then, I intend to sprint to the finish line. We have completed more than 85% of the $20 million Our Campaign to Re-imagine the JCC thanks to so many of you and I will not rest until the work of investing in our Leventhal-Sidman JCC lobby, security and café is complete.
I ended the gala by announcing the launch of the JCC Fund for the Future, an embodiment of the legacy I hope to leave for the future of JCC Greater Boston. The fund will be used to invest in the professional growth and development of our staff. They teach, mentor and support tens of thousands of families in our camps, preschools, fitness, and family engagement programs every year. I want to ensure that these incredible professionals continue to be the best assurance we have for a vibrant future for this JCC and our community.
As one of my favorite Grateful Dead songs, “Help On the Way”, notes, Without Love in the Dream it will Never Come True. To all of you, for the friendships, the relationships, the support, and the love for all the trees we have planted together and continue to nurture and grow, Mi’Omek Libi, from the depth of my heart...thank you.
