Meet Our Educational Leaders
Lauren has more than 25 years’ experience in education and has been with JCC Greater Boston for 22 years. She began her JCC career as an Afterschool Group Leader before becoming the Children's Director, planning and implementing afterschool and vacation programs. Throughout her years at the Sharon ELC, Lauren has taught toddlers and preschoolers. Most recently, she designed and taught a Transitional Kindergarten classroom with a focus on social thinking curriculum and community building. As of June 2015, Lauren assumed the role of Co-Director. She is excited to continue to grow the ELC community through creative programming and a warm, welcoming environment rich with Jewish values and ruach (spirit). Lauren holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts.
Lisa has been with JCC Greater Boston for more than 30 years, including 15 years as a Transitional Kindergarten teacher. As of June 2015, Lisa assumed the role of Co-Director at the Gilson ELC in Sharon. She has been the Child Development Specialist for more than 15 years. In this capacity, Lisa provides support to children with physical, emotional or developmental challenges and advocates for parents, helping to connect them with available community resources. In everything she does, Lisa is dedicated to providing a warm, enriching learning environment for children and their families. She holds a BA in Special Education from Boston College.
Cindy has been working as an Administrative Assistant for more than 10 years. She joined Gilson in 2015 and is responsible for the overall office operations including enrollment, records and assisting parents with daily questions and schedule changes.
Jamee joined the JCC ELC, Hingham as Director in June of 2019. She has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 20 years in a wide range of positions from public school Kindergarten and 1st grade teacher in the Everett and Wellesley Public Schools, private tutor, and Director of the South Shore YMCA Early Learning Center in Hanover. Jamee attended Clark University where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Communications, and spent an additional year earning her teaching credential in Elementary Education grades 1-6. She completed her Master’s Degree in Education with a Specialization in Literacy at Lesley University, as well as studied Special Education at Bridgewater State University. Jamee enjoys supporting young children and their teachers in their never-ending quest to become curious and engaged learners.
Indira joined us as the Director of the JCC ELC, Brookline/Brighton in 1997. She became Supervising Director in 2011 and continued to oversee all phases of school operations at the Brookline/Brighton site, while also assuming responsibility for program quality and content across all ELC locations. In 2014, Indira was promoted to Director, Early Learning Center Operations. In her current role as Assistant Vice President, she oversees operations of all JCC Early Learning Centers.
Indira participates in the Greater Boston Director’s Council of Early Childhood Jewish Educators and is an active member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). She holds BA and MS degrees in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University and has more than 30 years of experience in the field.
