Meet Our Educational Leaders
Amy joined the JCC ELC, Brookline/Brighton in December 2015 from our Newton location, where she was an Assistant Director responsible for supervising six classrooms including the infant and toddler program. Amy is known as a passionate advocate for a child-centered, responsive approach to learning.
A gifted teaching coach and a champion for early childhood teachers as professionals, Amy is an educational leader at both the local and national level. She is currently the leader of the Infant-Toddler Community of Practice for Jewish Educators in Greater Boston, which is run by the Paradigm Project, an early childhood excellence initiative funded by CJP. Recently she completed a two-year fellowship with Jewish Early Childhood Education Initiative (JECELI). Amy is a Brookline resident and holds an MS in Infant and Parent Development from Bank Street College.
Judy joined the JCC ELCs in 1999 as a Child Development Specialist. In this role, she provides support to children with physical, emotional or developmental challenges. Judy also advocates for parents, helping to connect them with available community resources for children and families. She holds a BA in Elementary and Special Education from Simmons College and an M.Ed. in Early Intervention from Wheelock College, and has more than 25 years of experience.
Becca has been the with the JCC ELC for more than seven years, beginning as a preschool teacher and then moving into the roles of Administrative Assistant in 2014 and Office Manager in 2015. In her role as Office Manager, she is responsible for the overall operations of the Brookline/Brighton ELC office including enrollment, records and assisting parents with daily questions and schedule changes. Becca received a BS degree in Philosophy, with a minor in Sociology, from Northeastern University. She has been a children’s ballet teacher for more than 20 years.
Indira joined us as the Director of the JCC ELC, Brookline/Brighton in 1997. She became Supervising Director in 2011 and continued to oversee all phases of school operations at the Brookline /Brighton site, while also assuming responsibility for program quality and content across all ELC locations. In 2014, Indira was promoted to Director, Early Learning Center Operations. In her current role, she oversees operations of all JCC ELCs.
Indira participates in the Greater Boston Director’s Council of Early Childhood Jewish Educators and is an active member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). She holds BA and MS degrees in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University and has more than 20 years of experience in the field.
Kathy has been part of the JCC ELCs for more than 10 years. Educated at Tufts University, she earned a Master's Degree in Child Studies and has more than 28 years of experience in the field. Throughout her career as teacher, director, parent liaison and advocate, she has always worked to help educators teach with more knowledge and passion. Today, as a Mentor Teacher, Kathy helps train and coach ELC educators and directors at our four locations.
