This six-week virtual program is for parents with anxious children based on SPACE: Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions. SPACE is the only evidence-based intervention made solely for caregivers of children who experience anxiety and related challenges. Developed at Yale University’s Child Study Center, SPACE has been shown to be as effective as individual cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) in treating children’s anxiety disorders and OCD. This series will be SPACE inspired and will teach skills used in SPACE treatment to decrease childhood anxious emotions. Parents will walk away with concrete tools, validation, and a solid plan that can be applied to all ages, with a focus on elementary through high school aged children. A zoom link will be sent after registering. Robyn Isman is a social worker and therapist who runs her own private practice. Robyn specializes in working with children of all ages, adults and parents to manage anxious emotions. Robyn is also a wife and mother of 3 living in the greater Boston area. Class does not meet February 22. Questions: adultprog@jccgb.org.
