Step into the great outdoors and kick off the New Year! Little explorers will enjoy a kid-friendly story, scavenger hunt, and craft project preparing us to forge a new path into the coming year. Our adventure will start with a short walk across the meadow to the flowing water of the Sudbury River where we can take part in the Jewish custom of Tashlich, symbolically casting off negative experiences from the previous year into the river. Imagine casting away the past year’s challenges into the flowing water, symbolically starting anew! On our walk, we’ll have a Tashlich scavenger hunt, and use our found objects from the woods, trails, and meadow to throw in the river. After Tashlich, get your creative hats on & gather 'round for a nature-themed craft project. Snack on some sweet New Year’s treats to kick off the new year! For families with children ages 0-8 years. In partnership with Rabbi Katy Allen of Ma'Yan Tikvah & Judaism Outdoors and MetroWest Jewish Day School, with support from CJP. For questions, email pjlibrary@jccgb.org
