Curious about knitting but not sure where to start? Join us for this hands-on, beginner-friendly class where you’ll learn the fundamentals of knitting in a supportive, small-group setting. Over the course of three weekly sessions, you’ll:
• Learn the foundational knitting stitches
• Discover how simple stitch combinations create textures like ribbing, garter, seed stitch, and more
• Learn about gauge, yarn and needle selection, and basic pattern reading
• Get guidance on how to choose and start your own project
We’ll provide all the supplies you need to begin, and help you navigate purchasing materials if you’d like to continue with your own project. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to complete a simple knitted piece on your own. No experience necessary. All are welcome. Geared towards adults. Questions: adultprog@jccgb.org.
This class is taught by Amy Rabinowitz, an avid knitter who is now the same age her grandmother was when she taught Amy to knit.
Session runs January 21-February 4.
