Welcome Baby! Monthly Meet-ups, Metro North

Designed for children ages 0-1 year, with adult
Meet other parents with babies over coffee in a relaxed setting the first Wednesday of each month.  Enjoy adult conversation while sharing parenting strategies, fun things to do as a family and area resources. Mixed Blessings: Raising Children in an Interfaith Family

An evening of film and discussion

Designed for interfaith couples and parents
Parenting often involves addressing differences of religious and spiritual beliefs. How does each individual within a relationship examine and articulate his/her own beliefs? What if someone's faith was not important before raising children, but then becomes important? The evening includes viewing of the file "Mixed Blessings" (mixedblessingsfilm.com) followed by discussion of these and many other related issues. Facilitated by filmaker Jennifer Kaplan, producer and director of "Mixed Blessings" and Lev Baesh, CJP Interfaith Ambassador. Purim Unmasked, Metro North

Purim celebrates the courage to speak up, like Esther did when she foiled the plot of Haman. Enjoy a telling of the Purim story by Eric Bornstein of Behind the Mask Theatre followed by mask masking and a special hamantaschen (cookie) treat. In the spirit of the ancient Kabbalat Shabbat (welcoming the Sabbath) tradition of going into the fields to welcome the Shabbath, come to an outdoor Shabbat sing-along. Bring a picnic dinner.
