Taste of Summer JCC Clearbrook Swim Club Open House

JCC Clearbrook Swim Club, Sunday, June 3 (11am-2pm)

The conditions are ideal for you to join the JCC Clearbrook Swim Club this summer! The JCC Clearbrook Swim Club in Framingham offers families and friends a close, convenient place to laugh, swim, play, relax, socialize and have fun in the sun all summer long. Check out the pool for yourself at the Clearbrook Swim Club Open House, Sunday, June 3, from 11am-2pm. The pool is located at 120 Parker Road in Framingham - easily accessible from the Mass Pike, Route 495 and Route 9.

JCC Outdoor Pool at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC, Friday, June 22, 2012 11:30am-1pm

Designed for families with children ages 2-6 years
Swim, socialize, and enjoy the kiddie pool and zero-depth entry main pool. Includes PJ Library story time and craft project.Stay after the event and continue to enjoy the pool. Dessert provided. Cafe service will not be available. Children ages 3.5 and under must wear a swim diaper and waterproof vinyl swim pant (available for purchase at the pool). Limited space available. No rain date scheduled. All JCC arts and humanities offerings are programs of the Ryna Greenbaum JCC Center for the Arts. Adapted Aquatics - Special Needs Ages 22+ yrs - Summer

LSJCC, Start Date: 06/25/2012, End Date: 08/20/2012, Time: 10:30 AM-11:45 AM

Weekly swimming class adapted to the needs of adults with physical challenges. Taught by a certified aquatics instructor, the class offers exercise and socialization to swimmers and non-swimmers in an accessible and supportive environment.

Aquatics Preschool 1 - Summer

LSJCC, Start Date: 06/25/2012, End Date: 07/11/2012, Time: 4:00 PM-4:30 PM

(Ages: 3-5 yrs) Instructor/Student Ratio 1:4 Help your child with little or no water experience - or a fear of the water - gain skills and confidence. Kicking, floating, bobbing and gliding are taught along with safety skills. Flotation devices will be introduced for reaching and pulling. To enter Preschool I, children must be comfortable in the water without their parents. For ages 3.5 and under, a swim diaper and waterproof vinyl swim pant must be worn under the child’s bathing suit.

Aquatics Preschool 3 - Summer

LSJCC, Start Date: 06/25/2012, End Date: 07/11/2012, Time: 4:00 PM-4:30 PM

(Ages: 3-5 yrs) Instructor/Student Ratio 1:5 To enter Preschool III, swimmers must be comfortable in the water without their parents, be able to submerge, swim 3-5 feet independently, and back glide or float. Introduction to front crawl with alternating arm recovery, rhythmic breathing and combined stroke on back will be taught. Underwater swimming, diving and safety skills will be introduced. For ages 3.5 and under, a swim diaper and vinyl swim pant must be worn under the child’s bathing suit.

Aquatics Level I: Water Exploration - Summer

LSJCC, Start Date: 06/25/2012, End Date: 07/11/2012, Time: 4:30 PM-5:00 PM

(Ages: 5+ yrs) Instructor/Student Ratio 1:5 Geared for the child who has little or no experience in the water, this class encourages independence of flotation devices as students learn jumping, bobbing, kicking, gliding, reaching and pulling, and breath control. Safety skills are also taught.

Aquatics Preschool 2 - Summer

LSJCC, Start Date: 06/25/2012, End Date: 07/11/2012, Time: 4:30 PM-5:00 PM

(Ages: 3-5 yrs) Instructor/Student Ratio 1:4 To enter Preschool II, swimmers must be comfortable in the water without their parents and be able to submerge without assistance. The beginner stroke and the back float without a flotation device will be introduced. For ages 3.5 and under, a swim diaper and vinyl swim pant must be worn under the child’s bathing suit.

Aquatics Level II: Primary Skills - Summer

LSJCC, Start Date: 06/25/2012, End Date: 07/11/2012, Time: 5:00 PM-5:30 PM

(Ages: 5+ yrs) Instructor/Student Ratio 1:5 To enter Level II, swimmers must be able to submerge, swim 5-10 feet independently, and back glide or float. Learn to master the prone and back floats/glides, breath control, object retrieval, front crawl, combined stroke on back, and safety skills.

Adult Arthritis Aquatics Program - Summer

LSJCC, Start Date: 06/26/2012, End Date: 07/12/2012, Time: 11:15 AM-12:00 PM

ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION AQUATICS PROGRAM   This class, taught by an Arthritis Foundation certified instructor, is intended for those who have been diagnosed with arthritis. No matter what your swimming abilities, this course will help you increase flexibility and range of motion of various joints.
