Programs
Kingswood campers arrive with lots of ideas and interests to pursue—and have tons of opportunities to learn new skills and try new things.
Once they arrive, boys and girls participate in the program at a pace appropriate to their age and ability. As they mature, they have more elective choices; the oldest campers have additional electives designed specifically for their needs. Instructional swim is available and there are many opportunities to participate in free swim.
Kingswood is proudly Jewish yet strongly pluralistic; campers and staff come from all over, and everyone is welcome—whatever their beliefs, practices or background. Jewish values and themes are presented through dance, arts and crafts, theatre, information discussion, and an elective Israel trip. Even Color War activities have a Jewish accent!
Blessings are said before and after each meal. Shabbat services include traditional prayers as well as creative songs, readings, poems and skits. The warmth and beauty of the day are celebrated with an afternoon of relaxed, free-choice programs culminating in Havdalah, the service that ends Shabbat and greets the new week.
